    Security Guard Opportunity at Optimus Health Care

    Optimus Health Care, the largest provider of primary care services in Fairfield County, is seeking a security guard to join our team. If you are dependable, observant, and committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors, we encourage you to apply.

    The security guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of employees, patients, and visitors, while identifying and addressing potentially hazardous or unsafe conditions across assigned locations.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Patrolling premises and monitoring surveillance systems to ensure safety and security.
    • Controlling access points and permitting authorized entry to facilities.
    • Inspecting buildings, equipment, and grounds for safety concerns.
    • Reporting on irregularities and enforcing organizational policies and procedures.
    • Responding to incidents and addressing trespassing or safety violations as needed.
    • Opening and securing facilities, including activating/deactivating alarms and lighting.
    • Locking and securing buildings at the close of business.
    • Assisting with emergency procedures, including evacuations as directed.
    • Maintaining compliance with organizational policies, OSHA, DPH, and infection control standards.
    • Attending department and staff meetings as required.
    • Following assigned schedules and maintaining reliable attendance.
    • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications include:

    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    • 1–2 years of experience in security or related field required.
    • Flexibility to workdays, evenings, and weekends.
    • Ability to work at multiple locations as needed.

    Skills and abilities include:

    • Knowledge of public safety procedures and security protocols.
    • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
    • Ability to interact respectfully with diverse populations, including patients and families.

    Licensure/certification includes:

    • Valid Connecticut driver's license required.
    • Active Connecticut Guard Card required.

    Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
