    Associate Attorney Immigration Practice

    Level: 4-6 Years of Experience

    Description: We have an immediate opening for an associate attorney in our immigration practice group. This position provides a fantastic opportunity to enhance your cutting-edge immigration knowledge with increased client contact in an AMLAW 200 firm while working on high-value immigration matters. The position also provides additional opportunities to work with attorneys at all levels within the labor, employment, benefits, and immigration section of the firm. Previous immigration and labor and employment experience is required, specifically with employment-based immigration (temporary visas as well as permanent residence). Candidates must have excellent knowledge of immigration law and practice, backed by strong academic credentials and research skills. Experience with petitions and applications in the healthcare industry is preferred but not required. Admittance to practice in Florida is preferred, but not mandatory.

    • Handling a diverse caseload of immigration matters such as non-immigrant visa applications and petitions, employment-based and family-based green card processes, naturalization applications, waivers of inadmissibility, and I-9 compliance.
    • Conducting legal research into immigration laws, regulations and policies to provide accurate advice to clients.
    • Collaborating with other attorneys, shareholders, paralegals and administrative personnel on complex immigration matters.
    • Drafting legal documents, such as forms, letters in support, petition packages, and correspondence. This may include H-1B, O-1, P-1, E-2, L-1A/B, NIW, EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, J-1 waiver, Labor Certification/PERM cases, RFE, NOID and Audit responses, as well as other complex immigration projects.
    • Taking ownership of cases from beginning to end with limited supervision and assistance. Utilizing and enhancing proficiency of case processing to handle each step in the life cycle of legal matters.
    • Contributing to case strategy and analysis by employing creativity, innovative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Representing clients in interviews and other proceedings.
    • Communicating with clients, government agencies, and other parties involved in immigration cases.
    • Staying updated on changes in immigration laws and policies to ensure compliance and provide strategic advice to clients.
    • Assisting in business development efforts, client consultations, and networking activities to grow the immigration practice.
    • Participating in and conducting training programs, seminars, and professional development opportunities to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
    • Participating in immigration practice group strategy meetings, practice development meetings, and other events for teambuilding.
    • Upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality throughout all interactions and transactions.
    • Keeping accurate and up-to-date accounting of time spent on each project.

    Bar Admission Required: Florida Bar Preferred
