Duties
As a Protective Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of stakeholders and the facility. Your responsibilities will include:
Enforcing access control measures to permit entry only to authorized individuals, packages, and vehicles
Operating walk-through and hand-held metal detectors, as well as x-ray machines, to screen individuals and items
Conducting thorough vehicle inspections
Identifying and addressing security threats according to established protocols
Preventing, detecting, and apprehending individuals attempting unauthorized access or violating laws
Executing emergency closure procedures and providing security assistance during crises
Conducting roving guard services and perimeter/interior patrols to identify security breaches and unsafe conditions
Delivering exceptional customer service to facility employees and visitors
Monitoring and operating various security systems, including intrusion detection, surveillance, and access control systems
Providing escort and courier services for the safe transportation of personnel and property
Performing emergency responses, including CPR, AED, and first aid, as needed
Maintaining accurate reports, records, and logs
Ability to remain mentally alert and physically ready to enforce contract requirements
Utilizing weapons when necessary, following established guidelines.
What You Bring
Experience and Training-Proven experience, training, and knowledge working as a professional security officer
Responsibility– Understands the seriousness of carrying a weapon and acts with caution and accountability at all times.
Alertness– Maintains high situational awareness and is quick to notice and respond to unusual behavior or safety threats.
Integrity– Demonstrates honesty, ethics, and adherence to rules, especially when no one is watching.
Reliability– Shows up on time, completes assignments, and can be counted on to perform under pressure.
Customer Service Orientation– Balances security duties with providing help or direction to employees, clients, or the public when appropriate.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet ALL of the following requirements, and examination results must be favorable as defined by contractual standards:
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of armed security experience within the past five years OR
Minimum of 1 year of law enforcement experience in full-duty status with a full-service police department within the US, with a good standing resignation or retirement OR
Minimum of 2 years of honorable service as a member of any US Armed Forces, National Guard, or Reserve service.
Education
High school diploma or GED.
Qualifications
Minimum age requirement: 21 years
US citizenship or lawful permanent residency for current members of the U.S. Armed Services or individuals with an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Military
Possession of an approved Social Security Card issued by SSA
Ability to obtain favorable verification through the E-Verify system
Fluent in spoken, written, and comprehended English
Possession of a current State-issued Driver's License or State ID
Proficiency with firearms
Ability to handle common and crisis situations at the client site calmly and efficiently
Other Requirements
Able to obtain and maintain SSA suitability
Successful completion of Medical/Physical examination and Drug testing with favorable results
Successful completion of New Hire Academy training
Successful passing of firearms qualifications.
Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Environment
Candidates must be able to:
Stand and walk for extended periods
Work outdoors in various weather conditions
Work extended shifts and overtime when necessary.
