    Are you a board-certified Gastroenterologist seeking a flexible locum tenens opportunity in South Carolina? Join a dynamic team near Columbia, SC, providing exceptional care to adult patients in a variety of settings. This role offers a balance of inpatient, outpatient, and procedural work with a supportive team environment.

    Position Highlights
    • Location: Near Columbia, SC.
    • Dates of Coverage:
      • January 610, 2025
      • February 714, 2025
      • March 714, 2025
      • April 1118, 2025
      • May 29, May 59, and May 2330, 2025
      • Additional dates through October 2025.
    • Shift Schedule: Standard shifts (including on-call) with a mix of day and night hours.
    Role Details
    • Case Load: Approximately 10 cases per day.
    • Team Support: Collaborate with five physicians, three advanced practice providers, and a dedicated OR team with CRNA support.
    • Facility Types: Work across an acute care hospital, outpatient clinic, and a freestanding GI center.
    Procedures and Skills
    • Required Procedures:
      • Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy
      • Esophageal dilatation/manometry and interpretation
      • Small bowel biopsy
      • Lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy with biopsy/excision of polyps
      • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
    • Preferred Advanced Procedures:
      • ERCP
      • Liver biopsy
      • Foreign body removal and banding of varices
    Qualifications
    • Licensing: Must hold or be willing to obtain a South Carolina medical license (licensing support available).
    • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and DEA required.
    • Experience: Two years of post-training experience preferred.
    • Charting System: Experience with Epic is a plus.
