Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field; current valid driver's license a 3 to 5 years of experience in a related field is preferred a Knowledge of relevant federal, state and county laws, local ordinances and department policies and procedures a Knowledge of personnel management principles a Knowledge of budget management principles a Knowledge of court security management principles and practices a Knowledge of criminal investigation principles and practices a Knowledge of law enforcement principles and practices a Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs a Skill in problem solving, prioritizing and planning a Skill in interpersonal and public relations a Skill in leading a team a Skill in oral and written communications a Plans and directs patrol, animal control-related investigations, civil paper services, and code enforcement operations a Hires, trains, assigns, directs, supervises, evaluates and disciplines personnel a Develops and implements department policies and procedures a Develops annual operating budgets and assists with management of approved funds; monitors expenditures a Attends seminars and conventions to remain informed of current trends and developments in the field a Conducts internal investigations a Enforces laws; makes arrests and issues citations a Responds to citizen complaints a Serves as bailiff in Magistrate Court a Assists property owners with evictions, repossessions, and levies a Assists in the enforcement of county ordinances a Job #: 11012021 Grade 21 12/27/2021 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs all other related duties as assigned
