    What You'll Actually Do

    This isn't sitting behind a desk all day. As a Deputy Sheriff, you'll rotate through different assignments so your job stays interesting, challenging, and rewarding.

    You'll:

    • Keep people safe inside the jail and courts
    • Process and classify inmates
    • Maintain order in courtrooms as a bailiff
    • Transport inmates securely
    • Use tech systems, radios, cameras, and databases
    • Respond to emergencies and support your team
    • Take part in community programs and outreach
    • Learn real law enforcement skills that open doors for the future

    Requirements
    • Must be a citizen of the United States.
    • Requires an acceptable background check and acceptable credit check.
    • Meet all federal, state and local requirements to carry a firearm.
    • Have never been dishonorably discharged from any of the armed forces of the United States.
    • Requires a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
    • Have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
