What You'll Actually Do
This isn't sitting behind a desk all day. As a Deputy Sheriff, you'll rotate through different assignments so your job stays interesting, challenging, and rewarding.
You'll:
- Keep people safe inside the jail and courts
- Process and classify inmates
- Maintain order in courtrooms as a bailiff
- Transport inmates securely
- Use tech systems, radios, cameras, and databases
- Respond to emergencies and support your team
- Take part in community programs and outreach
- Learn real law enforcement skills that open doors for the future

Requirements
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Requires an acceptable background check and acceptable credit check.
- Meet all federal, state and local requirements to carry a firearm.
- Have never been dishonorably discharged from any of the armed forces of the United States.
- Requires a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
- Have a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
