Have a passion for Law Enforcement, but still want to maintain your normal full-time career? POST certified and want to maintain your certification? The Adams County Reserve Deputies volunteer their time and talents to help the sheriff's office deliver its day-to-day law enforcement services and to assist during emergencies. All reserve deputies are required to maintain the same high standards of conduct required of any deputy sheriff. Reserve Deputies are required to work one shift per month in the following divisions of the sheriff's office: Jail, Patrol, Detectives, Professional Standards, Training, or the Office of the Sheriff. You must have been through a full police academy and are currently still POST certified or were previously fully certified here or in another state and have attended a refresher academy to be eligible to apply. Volunteers must be Colorado P.O.S.T. (Peace Officers Standards and Training) certified.

All divisions and assignments: Be on-call in the event of a major emergency Must qualify with firearms quarterly and meet annual training requirements Attend special training classes Maintain minimum Colorado POST training hours Establish traffic control at fires or other incidents that may attract crowds Assume control at traffic crashes to maintain traffic flow, and assist accident victims Locate and take persons into custody on arrest warrants Prepare variety of related case, complaint, and activity reports Perform Deputy duties at parades, processions, demonstrations, community activities, and sporting events May work in any sheriff's office division Must work one shift per month in any division
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED Must be a Colorado POST Certified Officer Must have a Valid driver's license Must meet criteria established by P.O.S.T. if you are a Non-United States Citizens.
