    Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Highway Maintenance Worker works as part of a team that is responsible for performing general highway patrolling and maintenance duties that help preserve the EECP (East End Crossing Partners) roads and ensure public safety. This position will provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year around. Patrollers typically work an 8-hour day shift, but nights, weekends, and overtime are possible depending on work loadResponsibilities: Mowing, weed spraying, weed eating, and other landscape maintenace,Snow & ice removal,Repairs to roadway (crack sealing, pot hole repair, slab joint maintenane),Operate commercial vehicles (CDL required: Skid Steer, Excavator, Front-end Loader, and Tractor),Remove debris from roadway (including litter, graffiti, animals, and abandoned vehicles or equipment),Maintains, repairs, and installs traffic signs, route markers, and pavement markings on roadway and bridge,Traffic control (operates highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain highways and right-of-way),Performs equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, refueling, and inspections,Filling work order reports and forms via smart phone & computer.Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is required,Must possess a valid driver's license & valid CDL is required, class B or higher, or ability to obtain within 90 days,Must pass drug test as a condition of employment,Must be able to respond to the O&M Facility within 30 minutes of notification,Must be able to lift 50lbs – 100lbs frequently,Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions, on various terrains, at various heights, in high volume traffic.Preferred Skills: Ability to take ownership of your actions and not blame others,Ability to operate within a team with excellent interpersonal and communication skills,Self-motivated, dependable, & takes pride in their work,Mechanically inclined and able to do equipment trouble shooting, servicing and light repair,Heavy equipment experience,Computing experience – use of software.Desired Skills: Experience of maintaining plant and heavy trucks,Experience in concrete repairs,Experience in electrical maintenance - street lighting etc.
