The City is now offering a $10,000 signing bonus for lateral corrections officers!!! Paid in three (3) installments: $3,000 on the first paycheck following hire, $3,000 following successful completion of the field training program and $4,000 following successful completion of the new hire's probationary period. You'll need to understand and respect the cultures, languages, disabilities, and socio-economic situations of those you interact with. To be successful, you should be comfortable with:

    • Assuring the security and welfare of jail inmates.
    • Supervising, observing, moving, escorting, and securing inmates during daily activities.
    • Performing duties such as fingerprinting, initial custody taking, and inmate booking and release.
    • Operating a control room, and monitoring closed-circuit television cameras and emergency monitors.
