Considered a leader in the fire safety industry, LSS Life Safety Services® is committed to providing commercial facilities with fire protection inspections of the highest quality to ensure compliance with NFPA's critical Life Safety Code®.Life Safety Technicians/Damper ServicesLife Safety Services is seeking service technicians to inspect, install and repair fire and smoke dampers to control the spread of fires in commercial and healthcare facilities throughout the northeast. Ideal candidates will have a valid driver's license, be willing and able to travel on rations that are 10 days on and four days off and be committed to keeping buildings and people safe!The company will cover the cost of lodging and transportation.Essential Duties• Inspect, install and repair fire and smoke dampers, ensuring that they operate in compliance with the NFPA standards• Provides documentation as work is performed, which is used to provide a report for customers• Ability to work independently or as a member of a team• Reviews and reads blueprints to locate fire and smoke dampers• Communicates clearly with customers and keeps them abreast of the work they are performingMinimum Requirements• Previous HVAC, life safety or fire safety experience or experience as a facility manager• Experience hanging ductwork or working for a mechanical contractor• Ability to read construction drawings and work through a facility self-directed• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills• Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational/attention to detail skills• Ability to use laptop or tablet for progress documentation• Self-starter, excellent listener, attention to detail and completes tasks efficiently with professional manner and limited direction• Ability to travel 100%• Must have valid driver's license• Must be at least 21 years of ageAdditional Requirements• Thorough knowledge of NFPA, ICC, and other codes as they relate to Fire and Smoke Doors, specifically NFPA 80, 105, and 101;Company Benefits• Medical, dental and vision insurance available• Free life insurance available• Supplemental insurance (voluntary life, accident, critical illness and short-term disability) also available• Paid Time Off (PTO)• Paid Holidays• 401K with company matching• Employee Assistance ProgramWe are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by lawCompany Description LSS is one of the Inc. 5000 fastest growing companies in America.
