Job Summary Performs responsible technical work by assisting with the design, layout and fabrication of all traffic control and special signage manufactured for installation in the City. Involved in vehicle lettering, window layouts, and custom signage using a computerized graphics design arts station and through hand drawn artwork. Performs general maintenance on all machines pertinent to the job and maintains an inventory of all supplies associated with sign fabrication and street name work orders. Must be available for emergency callouts related to sign fabrication. May be required to work overtime or alternative schedules as needed for operational needs. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Sign Fabrication Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate/G.E.D. and one (1) year experience in sign fabrication
required; or an Associate's degree in the graphic arts field
required; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Florida Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) or Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification
required within 6 months of hire.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
