Responsibilities

What you'll do
- Monitor and support outdoor athletic programs, with an emphasis on soccer, softball, flag football, tennis, T-ball, and other assigned sports to ensure leagues operate safely and on schedule.
- Assist with planning, developing, and organizing athletic leagues by creating schedules, coordinating logistics, and supporting overall program delivery.
- Communicate regularly with athletic partners, coaches, officials, parents, players, and the general public to share information, resolve issues, and promote positive participation.
- Maintain athletic facilities and equipment to ensure safe, functional, and well-prepared spaces for practices and games.
- Support Senior Recreation leadership with athletic programming and daily operations through accurate communication, organization, and follow-through.
- Handle cash transactions as required and use computer systems, including Microsoft Office and CivicRec, to support registration, scheduling, and recordkeeping.

- Participants, parents, and partners receive clear, timely communication and support.
- Facilities and equipment are safe, clean, and ready for use.

REQUIRES - 6 months of experience in community recreation, sports instruction, arts education, or related programming (e.g., coaching, teaching art or music).
- May be required to possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
- Must pass a preemployment drug screen as prescribed by the City.
