What you'll do
- Serve as a Public Health Nurse in Children's and Adult Immunization Clinics, providing safe, timely immunizations to prevent communicable diseases across the community.
- Perform nursing assessments of patients to determine appropriate care, identify risks, and support informed clinical decisions.
- Utilize standing orders to guide immunizations, physical examinations, testing, and treatment, ensuring care is delivered consistently and in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Participate in community health outreach events to expand access to immunizations and promote public health education.
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work in the Tuberculosis Clinic as needed, supporting comprehensive communicable disease prevention efforts.
- Apply professional nursing judgment to guide patient care, prioritize safety, and respond appropriately to individual health needs.

REQUIRES - Licensure as a registered nurse as determined by the Missouri State Board of Nursing or a state having reciprocity with the state of Missouri.
- Possession of a current license or temporary permit (for transfer from other states).
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license in accordance with City of KCMO policies.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
