    The World Equestrian Center - Ocala is seeking a highly experienced Safety & Security Assistant Manager to support the safety, security, and emergency preparedness operations of one of the largest and fastest-growing hospitality, entertainment, sports, and event destinations in the country.

    Spanning 390+ acres with continued rapid expansion, the World Equestrian Center is a dynamic, high-volume environment encompassing luxury hotels, restaurants, retail, entertainment venues, equestrian competition facilities, event spaces, and a 24/7 operational footprint. This role requires a proven leader who can confidently navigate complex safety and security situations, support emergency response, and lead with professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

    Prior law enforcement and/or corrections experience is required for this role.

    At the World Equestrian Center, quality, class, and distinction are at the heart of everything we do. The Safety & Security Assistant Manager is expected to uphold these standards while helping protect our guests, Riders, team members, and property.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Support day-to-day safety and security operations across the World Equestrian Center campus
    • Assist in emergency response coordination, incident command support, and safety hazard mitigation
    • Respond to active incidents including medical emergencies, disturbances, theft, suspicious activity, workplace violence concerns, and operational safety matters
    • Coordinate directly with local law enforcement, fire rescue, EMS, and other emergency response agencies
    • Conduct investigations related to accidents, safety incidents, theft, property loss, misconduct, and security concerns
    • Oversee routine property patrols, inspections, access control monitoring, and safety compliance checks across the campus
    • Assist with emergency preparedness planning, fire drills, evacuation procedures, active threat response training, and crisis readiness initiatives
    • Deliver and support safety training programs including CPR, fire safety, workplace violence prevention, active shooter preparedness, and human trafficking awareness
    • Partner closely with Human Resources on workplace safety initiatives, workers' compensation matters, investigations, and policy compliance
    • Support team leadership responsibilities including scheduling, coaching, performance management, and shift oversight
    • Ensure all required safety certifications, compliance records, and training documentation are current and accurately maintained
    • Track and monitor safety equipment, emergency response readiness, and compliance with established protocols
    • Respond professionally and efficiently to guest, Rider, and operational concerns requiring security leadership presence
    • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, insurance representatives, and external partners regarding safety and security services
    • Assist in developing scalable safety and security practices to support ongoing property growth and operational expansion

    Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to stand, walk, patrol, and respond across a large multi-acre property for extended periods
    • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as operational demands require
    • Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies across indoor and outdoor environments
    • Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling or operating equipment
    • Must possess close and distance vision
    • Must be able to speak and hear clearly in high-pressure operational settings
    • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business and emergency needs require

    Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills & Abilities
    • Required: Prior law enforcement, corrections, military police, or comparable public safety experience
    • Required: Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in safety, security, law enforcement, corrections, emergency response, or related operational leadership
    • Experience managing incidents, investigations, emergency response, and security operations in complex environments
    • Strong working knowledge of emergency preparedness, safety compliance, workplace investigations, and incident documentation
    • Experience partnering with law enforcement, EMS, fire rescue, and external agencies
    • Leadership experience supervising teams, coaching associates, and driving accountability
    • Strong judgment, calm decision-making, and the ability to lead under pressure
    • High level of professionalism, discretion, and situational awareness
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience strongly considered
    • Hospitality, resort, event venue, campus, or large property security experience strongly preferred
