    Description: Description

    The Litigation Paralegal serves as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, overseeing the general progression of a legal case to ensure relevant elements of a case are collected, maintained, and organized. The Litigation Paralegal's duties are predominantly administrative. With an attention to detail, the Litigation Paralegal gathers all pertinent information related to the assigned client's case and prepares critical documentation for legal review. With an emphasis on proactive, client-focused communication, the Litigation Paralegal provides weekly status updates to clients on their case and addresses any questions they raise. Working collaboratively with the team's litigation attorney, the Litigation Paralegal is an integral resource to prepare each client's case for settlement or trial.


    Requirements
    • Answers or promptly returns all incoming client calls, addressing any concerns presented by clients and seeking answers from legal team, ensuring not to provide direct legal advice to clients.
    • Proactively makes follow-up calls to clients regarding case status updates, calendared hearings or mediations.
    • Collaborates with clients to gather all related bills, records, and documents regarding their case. Prepares each case for settlement negotiations, documenting all relevant information in preparation for attorney review.
    • Drafts complaints, answers, pleadings, motions, petitions, affidavits and other court documents for attorney review and then files with the court.
    • Assists in responding and drafting discovery and trial preparations.
    • Proactively monitors case progress and plans ahead to advance the case.
    • Prepares demand letters for attorney review, proactively communicating any information pertinent in the course of the attorney negotiation process.
    • Acts as liaison between trial team and internal/external third parties.
    • Institutes effective time management and organization strategies to manage assigned caseload and coordinate resources.
    • Communicates with team members and/or other departments regarding a particular case (or cases) in order to gather and share pertinent information in a timely manner.
    • Interacts with medical providers, adjusters, and other third parties related to assigned case(s) in order to communicate proactively and gather relevant information that informs next steps.
    • Drafts case-specific courses of action in concert with Litigation Attorneys to address potential conflicts or concerns with clients.
    • Supports the legal team and other team members with other matters related to serving our clients, as needed.
    Requirements
    • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Paralegal Certificate preferred.
    • Three years or more of litigation experience preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools required; knowledge of Case Management software (e.g., Filevine) preferred.
    • Familiarity with personal injury law preferred.
    • Demonstrates attention to detail in all tasks performed, with a focus on documenting all relevant aspects of a case that will inform the attorney's actions.
    • Proactively communicates proficiently and collaboratively both verbally and in writing with clients, internal team members, and third parties.
    • Maintains exceptionally high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
    • Takes ownership of work and demonstrates commitment to quality in every task performed
