    Job Summary
    Operates a heavy motorized collection vehicle for the transport of dewatered sludge for disposal and assists in the operation of a wastewater treatment system for the City of Bryan.
    Essential Job Functions
    • Operates and maintains roll-off vehicle, dump truck, and backhoe to transport processed sludge for disposal.
    • Enters and exits the truck multiple times throughout the day to secure loads and check equipment.
    • Assists in sludge processing through operation of belt press and grease plant.
    • Assists in general duties associated with maintenance and operation of wastewater treatment plant.
    • Performs related duties as required.
    • Responds regularly and promptly to work.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or GED .
    • At least three (3) years of work experience, preferably involving driving a large vehicle and/or heavy equipment.

    Equivalent combinations of education, experience, certification, and training may be considered.

    Licenses, Certifications & Special Requirements
    • Texas Class B commercial driver’s license with a good driving record as measured by the City’s evaluation system.
    • Must obtain Wastewater Class D Operator License and Wastewater Class C License within the time frame set by the department.
    • Must successfully pass an annual pulmonary function test and respirator fit test to determine ability to function while wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus ( SCBA ) during emergency operations.
