    Deputy Community Development Director
    City of Moorpark, California

    The City of Moorpark seeks a dynamic Deputy Community Development Director to lead planning initiatives shaping the city’s future. Nestled in a scenic valley just an hour from Los Angeles, Moorpark is known for its small-town charm, natural beauty, and high quality of life.

    In this key leadership role, you’ll guide strategic planning efforts, champion high-quality development, and serve as the principal staff liaison to the Planning Commission. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team to implement Moorpark’s bold General Plan 2050 and ensure thoughtful growth that reflects community values.

    The ideal candidate is a technically skilled, forward-thinking leader with a passion for public service, a collaborative mindset, and a deep understanding of planning and development, with six years of experience in urban planning, including three years of supervisory experience, and a Bachelor’s degree. A Master's and AICP certification are desirable.

    Salary range is $125,132 – $168,292 DOE, plus excellent benefits.
