    The Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) is recruiting for a Child Support Training and Development Supervisor who oversees daily operations of the Child Support Services training team, including leadership programs, professional development training, and customized curriculum services. The Training and Development Supervisor conducts complex analysis to assess the department's training and development needs; identifies and evaluates training and development goals; monitors and evaluates pricing and cost effectiveness of training and development services; recommends changes to curriculum, frequency, staffing, pricing, format or other aspects of training programs and services to improve effectiveness.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must pass a background investigation, including DOJ/FBI clearance, credit check, physical examination and drug test, prior to appointment.

    Travel: Travel throughout the County and State may be required. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of liability insurance must be produced and maintained throughout employment.

    Minimum Requirements

    Candidates must meet one of the following requirement options: OPTION 1 Education:
    A completed bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in English, education, business/public administration, liberal arts, communication, organizational development, computer science, social/behavioral, natural science, or a closely related field.
    -AND- Training Experience:
    Two (2) years of full-time experience as a professional trainer/educator of adult learners. ( Providing on-the-job training is not considered qualifying experience.)

    OPTION 2 Education:
    Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in public/business administration, administration of justice, behavioral/social science, English, math, humanities, human services, or a closely related field. Transcripts must be submitted with the application if the candidate does not possess an associate's degree or higher in one of the qualifying fields of study mentioned above.

    Completion of the Management Leadership Academy (MLA) in San Bernardino County will be accepted toward the required coursework on the basis of 4 quarter units of credit per MLA track completed.
    -AND- Child Support Experience:
    Three (3) years of full-time experience working as a Child Support Specialist II , or Supervising Child Support Specialist in a County agency overseen by the California Department of Child Support Services. (Each position held must be clearly detailed and listed separately in the Work Experience section of the Application.)
    -AND- Training Experience:
    Two (2) years of experience developing curricula or course materials and delivering instruction.
    -OR- Training Experience:
    Two (2) years of experience conducting informal trainings, mentoring, and/or counseling/coaching for adult learners.

    Note: Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have organizational development experience which includes conducting organizational studies, developing training objectives, and developing interventions to organizational problems. This candidate will possess a strong background in project planning, delivering services in a support capacity, and presenting to executive and management staff. Additionally, the ideal candidate has excellent oral and written communication skills, effective presentation and leadership skills, and has worked in a human/social services environment as a professional trainer/educator of adult learners.
