    Job Description

    Note for internal applicants: Successful candidates already at rates above the posted salary will be evaluated on an individual basis to determine final salary outcome.

    This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate starting salary of $56,712.48 and senior salary of $61,249.44.

    Job Location: Central Office, 830 MoDOT Drive, Jefferson City, MO

    The official work location for this position is in Jefferson City. Remote work from an approved MoDOT location may be possible.

    The system management specialist performs routine entry-level activities in the areas of parks road management, traffic management and operations, overdimension/overweight permit operations, sign production, maintenance management, bridge management, roadside management, highway safety program administration, construction management, and/or environmental support. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision.

    What you’ll do:

    • Supports MoDOT Management System (MMS) primary daily operations: answers MMS help desk phone; responds to emails/chats; creates training videos/documents; conducts virtual and in-person training; assists buildings with getting time submitted and partnering with district financial services; other Central Office related tasks as needed.
    • Assists with managing Administration responsibilities in MMS - Activity, Fleet, Consumable Inventory, Fringe Benefits, Quality assurance of data entry, and resolving data entry issues.
    • Assists MMS Team in the project development lifecycle: scope documents technical specifications; application testing and meetings.
    • Assists in planning, reviewing and the submittal of FHWA preventative maintenance Federal Reimbursement process.
    • Supports Central Office Maintenance activities: creates “WM” job numbers for district contract work, helps manage SharePoint page, creates/ updates maintenance guidance information and FAQ documents, backup for administrative tasks; assist with Innovations program; and other Central Office duties as assigned which includes support of our 24-hour Emergency Operation Center activities when activated.


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree: Business Administration, Accounting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field, OR
    • Four years of experience in positions related to accounting, auditing, business analysis or review, highway safety program administration, or technical experience in operations or related positions.


    Special Working Conditions:

    • Job requires occasional, statewide, overnight travel.
    • Job requires occasional after-hours and weekend work.
