JOB SUMMARY Under general direction of the Chief Structural Inspector, assists in overseeing the review of structural plans, specifications and permits to ensure the safety, conformance and compliance with applicable laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations. An employee in this class is responsible for compliance in the inspection of buildings, structures, and premises for conformance with building code, for assigning and reviewing the work of other structural inspectors and structural plans examiners, and for reviewing structural plans. The incumbent is responsible for enforcing Federal, State and County codes, ordinances and regulations related to the structural discipline. The incumbent assists the Chief Structural Inspector to render interpretations of the Florida Building Code and to adopt policies and procedures to clarify the application and administration of the codes provisions.
