    Job Description

    The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), Office of Audit Services (OAS), seeks an Auditor Intern to join the team for a negotiable duration. This position will assist the OAS team while gaining meaningful experience with auditing, skills in analyzing records, and understanding of Missouri state government processes. The internship schedule is up to 20 hours per week.

    This position will assist with both program and financial audits of the internal operations of the Department of Mental Health and external organizations. Responsibilities include evaluating the accuracy of financial records, effectiveness of operational controls, conformance to program policies and procedures, and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

    Some travel out of town may be a possibility, but not a requirement.

    Pursuit of a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance with a minimum of 15 total earned credit hours in Accounting, Economics, Finance, and/or Mathematics.

    Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
