    The Cardiovascular Sonographer Trainee* position is ideal for candidates with less than six (6) months of ultrasound experience, including recent graduates who have obtained or are in the process of obtaining their ARDMS certification.

    Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Cardiovascular Sonographer Trainees*who perform echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiogram examinations; explain procedures to patients and obtain informed consent from patients for testing; review, select, and store ultrasound images; prepare patients and equipment for procedures, and monitor patients before, during, and after testing. In addition, these positions assist with the training of student technologists.

    ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

    Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

    The County also offers an alternative Modified Benefits Option (MBO) that provides a wage differential.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Work Schedule : The current vacancy is a part-time position. ARMC is a twenty-four hour facility; applicants must indicate their shift availability in the Supplemental Questionnaire of the application . Shift differentials are provided. Incumbents must be willing to work on-call shifts, weekends, and holidays.

    Pre-Employment Process: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, physical and verification of employment history and education.

    Promotion: Special Procedures Radiologic Technologist Trainees are eligible for promotion to Ultrasound Technologist upon meeting the minimum requirements for said higher level classification and receiving a satisfactory work progress report. Incumbents must promote within twelve (12) months or be terminated.

    Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

    Minimum Requirements

    Candidates must meets the following Certification and Experience requirements:

    CERTIFICATION

      ◦ Must possess and maintain current cardiac specific certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR be Board eligible and pass the examination within one (1) year of hire.
      ◦ Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    EXPERIENCE

    No experience required.

    Desired Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of experience working in a medical environment.
