Summary
Mountain Operations DispatchMountain Operations Dispatch plays a critical role in the coordination and communication of daily operations across Big Sky Resort's mountain departments, including Ski Patrol, Lift Maintenance, Lift Operations, Grooming, and Snowmaking. Working under the direction of the Patrol Director, the dispatcher is often the first point of contact for both emergency and non-emergency calls. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. EMT certification is not required for this position.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate communication between all Mountain Operations departments via two-way radio and phoneMonitor and relay lift status updates (openings, closures, holds) to relevant resort departmentsAnnounce daily travel plans and terrain status updates for Mountain OperationsReceive reports of guest injuries and dispatch appropriate Ski Patrol responseAssist in coordinating guest transport during incidents and emergenciesMaintain detailed and accurate records of operational activity using resort softwareAnswer phones and radios professionally, routing calls appropriatelyMaintain familiarity with resort terrain, procedures, and emergency protocolsExhibit empathy and professionalism when speaking with guests or team members in distressSupport daily and ongoing operations with clear and timely communicationQualificationsExcellent verbal communication and listening skillsProfessional, calm, and kind demeanor in high-pressure situationsExceptional guest serviceStrong multitasking abilities, including managing multiple incidents simultaneouslyAbility to prioritize tasks based on rapidly changing informationComfortable using two-way radios, telephones, and computer systemsAccurate and efficient typing and data entry skillsFamiliarity with Big Sky Resort operations is preferredAll full time seasonal employment at Big Sky Resort includes:FREE All Mountain Ski Pass and eligibility for Free or Discounted Tickets to other Montana Mountains and Boyne Resort propertiesDiscounted vouchers for skiing at Big Sky Resort for friends and familyDiscounted ski/snowboard rentals with a free Team Member lesson25%-50% off F&B and Retail at all Boyne outletsEligibility for affordable Team Member HousingLodging discounts for friends and familyDiscounted Lone Mountain Ranch Cross Country Ski Trail PassWellness Day and Eligibility for PTOMonthly Team Member events
