About the Role

The Company is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be a senior legal executive with a strong background in managing legal and regulatory affairs, particularly in the financial services sector. This role is pivotal in providing strategic leadership and hands-on execution, with a focus on securities disclosure, banking regulation, and enterprise risk. The Deputy General Counsel will serve as a key advisor to executive leadership and the Boards of Directors, and will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters, including public company and disclosure responsibilities, banking regulation and supervisory engagement, business line support, strategic growth initiatives, and litigation management.Applicants for the Deputy General Counsel position at the company should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and be an active member in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar. The ideal candidate will have 8 to 12 years of legal experience, with a preference for those who have worked at an AmLaw Top 100 Firm or a National/Regional Recognized Law Firm. Deep familiarity with the regulation of financial institutions, particularly those with assets ranging from $10B–$50B, is essential. The role requires a professional with regulatory depth, strong business judgment, and the ability to manage competing demands in a resource-constrained environment. The Deputy General Counsel will also be expected to have a proven track record of interacting with senior executives and regulators, and a background in public company legal matters, including experience with securities and regulatory issues.
