Job SummaryJoin Our Team as a Court Transcriptionist!
Under general supervision, undertakes and performs a variety of tasks associated with creating accurate verbatim written records from the recorded proceedings of trials, hearings and/or other judicial proceedings occurring in the courtroom, in judicial chambers and/or other locations convened by the court. Join our team and turn courtroom conversations into crystal-clear records, transcribing every word with precision and flair!
Hours: Monday - Fridayfrom 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
A High School Diploma or GED, clerical/office support experience, and proofreading and editing experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENT
- Must complete annual training as required by the Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET).
- Must possess a valid State of Arizona Driver’s License at the start of employment and maintain said license while employed in this position.
- Provide acceptable driving history at no cost to the County.
- Employees are subject to immediate callout when an emergency, disaster or breach of homeland security occurs. Employees shall be available, unless excused, to ensure the court is adequately staffed during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and acts of terrorism. This may require assisting other employees in the work unit in accomplishing assignments as necessary and the working of unusual, long hours over an extended period of time with infrequent breaks or rest periods. An employee who is working with an accommodation must meet with their supervisor and division head to discuss their requirement for response.

Mohave County
With over 13,400 square miles, Mohave County is the fifth largest county in the U.S., and sixth largest county by population in Arizona . Situated in northwestern Arizona, it borders Utah, Nevada and California and contains elevations from 500 to over 8,400 feet above sea level. Mohave County is a rapidly growing county and has over 209,550 full time residents. Populations can exceed 350,000 during the winter "snowbird" season. Most residents live in one of the four incorporated cities: Kingman (the County seat); Bullhead City; Lake Havasu City; or Colorado City. Mohave County has over 1,000 miles of fresh water shoreline along the Colorado River and its lakes include Mohave, Havasu and Mead. Boating, jet skiing, water skiing, fishing and white water rafting opportunities abound. Wilderness areas lie a short drive in any direction within the County. Campers, hikers, mountain bikers, rock hounds and horseback riders find easy access to scenic trails, hidden creeks, hot springs, and beautiful southwestern vistas. The western portion of the Grand Canyon offers hikers some of the most spectacular views in the United States. Laughlin, Nevada, lies across the Colorado River from Bullhead City providing easy access to gaming activities, entertainment and nightlife. Las Vegas is only 90 minutes from Kingman with a bypass to tour the historic Hoover Dam.
