    THE POSITION

    The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is looking for non-engineering college students for employment during the summer months for the 2026 Summer Employment Program! This internship will allow you to develop your technical skills, apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, and work alongside professionals who are passionate about innovation and excellence.     PennDOT has several opportunities for students to kick-start their career in Summer 2026! You can gain valuable experience in areas such as accounting, fine arts, humanities, journalism, public administration and social sciences. This is your chance to put your college training to use, gain indispensable skills, and experience the satisfaction of public service.

    PennDOT Interns enjoy opportunities in various areas of PennDOT operations. Internship opportunities associated with this posting will be headquartered throughout PennDOT's Engineering Districts. Opportunities are based on operational needs, so there may not be open positions for each job title in every county. To see counties where you might be interested in working, view PennDOT's District map.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    • Full-time internship that will run between May and August with flexible start and end dates.
    • Work hours will vary based on position
    • Some positions may require travel

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS
