Operate light and moderately heavy equipment such as dump trucks, boom trucks and backhoes; transport equipment and supplies to work sites; and load and unload equipment and supplies. Perform various building trades skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, masonry and welding in support of Utility Services functions. Perform traffic control including setting up and removal of signs and cones and flagging. Read and repair water meters; patch road pavement; may operate and repair snow removal equipment. Keep appropriate records. As Maintenance Worker perform variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in support of Utility Services program areas. When assigned to a wastewater treatment plant, maintain and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic systems; install and repair piping and valves; interpret manuals, schematics, plant diagrams and drawings. Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other County employees and the public using principles of good customer service. Perform related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience and Training Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Receives, records and transmits tenant rental and other payments for processing. Verifies bills and processes appropriate payments. Provides fiscal oversight and prepares the SARTC budget. Minimum Qualifications Two years of responsible administrative experience performing duties for projects, programs or specific functions in Public Works, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the following knowledge and abilities: DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of: principles and practices of organization and project/program development methods used in Public Works, preservation of neighborhoods, or area of assignment; general principles and approaches to residential development; municipal government operations, budgetary process and controls; municipal codes and ordinances; the City's development process; research techniques, methods and procedures; principles of supervision and training; English grammar, punctuation and syntax for effective report and grant writing; current relevant software applications such as Word and Excel; techniques and methods used in the preparation and dissemination of information to the public. Working under the direction of the Division Managers for the three Divisions described above, the Senior Department Analyst is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and fiscal oversight for key program initiatives that support their programs. The Senior Department Analyst takes a lead role in developing, implementing, and overseeing procedures, practices and standards and working with multiple staff at various levels to ensure consistent successful implementation.
