The Paraeducator Certificate Program offers statewide standards-based training for all paraeducator/Education Support Professionals (ESP), and supports a career growth ladder for those who wish to advance their career as a paraeducator or pursue a teaching profession. Staff will be required to complete 28 hours of training on the Fundamental Course of Study provided by the district. The first two days of FCS training will be required to be completed within four months of the date of hire, and the second two days within six months of the date of hire, or by September 1 of the next school year. The general certificate is then earned by a paraeducator who completes ten days (70 clock hours) of professional development training. Examples Of Duties This position assists a certificated teacher with instructional and personal care needs for students with a broad range of disabilities, including medically fragile, orthopedically impaired, developmental, physical, and/or behavioral. An Administrative Assistant job is available with the City of Fort Worth Financial Management Services Purchasing Division. The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and administrative skills, outstanding customer service in a fast-paced work environment with a strong focus on results, and the ability to adapt to change. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field Four years of clerical and administrative experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in ERP PeopleSoft Purchasing software Knowledge and experience with State and local government purchasing policies and procedures Familiar with Public Information Act software GovQA and experience with FOIA rules and regulations The Administrative Assistant job responsibilities include: Provides administrative support to the daily operations of the Finance Department and Purchasing Division including interactions with external customers and internal employees Performs a wide variety of clerical duties such as effectively handling multiple tasks simultaneously while assisting customers and answering phone calls, processing paperwork, and entering data into various programs Responding to and resolving customers’ inquiries or direct to appropriate personnel Researching and ensuring bill payments are processed efficiently and timely Reading and understanding contract documents for term dates and renewal options Compile monthly reports for contract renewals and communicate with departments and/or suppliers for documentation needed to renew current agreements Compile weekly reports for Mayor & Council Purchasing agenda items Researching and responding to Public Information Requests adhering to time sensitive deadlines Follow City Purchasing Policy and Procedures Perform other duties as assigned.
