    Job Summary

    The Ticket Sales and Service Associate delivers exceptional customer service and ensures seamless ticketing operations. This position supports the ticket office by processing transactions, assisting fans with inquiries, and resolving issues related to ticket purchases.

    The primary purpose of this roles is to create a positive experience for fans by providing timely, accurate, and friendly service while promoting Long Beach State Athletic events. Additionally, this position will contribute to revenue generation through proactive sales strategies and cultivation of strong fan relationships. It serves as a welcoming and efficient point of contact for all ticketing and fan-related needs.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Ticket Sales and Processing - Process ticket sales through phone, online, and in-person transactions. Handle ticket exchanges, upgrades, refunds, and cancellations efficiently.
    • Customer Service and Fan Support - Assist with promoting and selling ticket packages. Assist with record keeping of sales transactions, various transactions in CRM systems. Serve as the primary point of contact for fans, ensuring a welcoming and friendly experience.
    • Fan Engagement and Cultivation - With leadership’s assistance, build rapport with fans and identify their needs and offer the suitable ticketing solutions.
    • Ticket Office Operations - Provide on-site support for ticketing and fan engagement needs at Athletic events. Assist with game-day operations, including ticket distribution, will-call services, and entry support.

    Thorough knowledge of sports ticketing industry and best practices. Communicates Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; Ability to collaborate positively to effectively drive toward organizational goals. Demonstrate Inclusive Behaviors - Seek and develop relationships that help grow and maintain a working and learning environment where every student, employee and community member is treated with dignity and respect. Make sense of complex, high quality and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve issues and demonstrated analytical, decision making, prioritization and problem-solving skills.

    Ability to develop ongoing relationships with season ticket holders, local community, and donors. Ability to guide others in policy and procedures in support of the athletics department and the university. Organizational Savvy - Maneuvering comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics. Drives Results - Consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances and thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Strong customer service skills over the telephone, in person, and through written communication. Must be proficient in the use of basic computer applications. Working knowledge of the University's and Department's cash handling policies.

    Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

    Education and Experience

    Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required.

    • Prior NCAA Division I collegiate or professional athletics preferred.

    • Experience using Paciolan is preferred.

    Physical Summary
    • Light work - Job involves some lifting of medium weight objects (10-20 pounds) and/or 10% - 20% of the job involves standing or walking.

    Compensation

    Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

    CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,058 - $6,653 per month.

    Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.

    Time Base

    1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

    Duration of Appointment

    This is a temporary position for 1 year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

    Additional Information

    Long Beach State Athletics is committed to following NCAA, Big West Conference, Golden Coast Conference, and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation rules and regulations. Therefore, the incumbent is required to maintain a working knowledge of these rules and regulations.

    A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
