We are recruiting to fill a Pretrial Administrator position to perform responsible administrative work in managing and coordinating pretrial services and to monitor defendants placed under pretrial services to ensure compliance with court ordered conditions. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a presiding judge or appointing authority. The employee is expected to perform administrative functions with minimal supervision. Work will involve coordination of activities of the court, other agencies and organizations as they relate to the pretrial services.
- Manages and coordinates the pretrial services which includes gathering and preparing information about individuals who have been arrested and charged with a crime and prepares an assessment of their risk of non-appearance and danger to the community.
- Presents information to the judicial officer regarding individuals risk assessment score, conditions of release or detention of the defendant.
- Researches list for inmates incarcerated on new charges and conducts assessment on the charge they are being held for.
- Researches criminal histories utilizing the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) and Case.Net.
- Prepares and e-files assessments and judicial memos with new and pertinent information on cases.
Minimum Qualifications Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in judicial administration, public or business administration, sociology, psychology, criminal justice or a related field, and three years of responsible professional experience in management or administration.
Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
Preferred Qualifications - Thorough knowledge of court procedures, legal documents, statutes and legal factors pertaining to the court system and treatment courts.
- Thorough knowledge of the organization, functions, responsibilities and procedures of the court system.
- Considerable knowledge of the modern principles and practices of public and judicial administration.
- Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with judges, court officials, attorneys, treatment/service providers, Probation and Parole, law enforcement personnel, and the general public.
- Ability to use reasoning in determining appropriate recommendations for defendants.
