About the Opportunity THE POSITION The Staff Services Technician works under general supervision performing the more routine analytical and technical administrative service work in one or more of the following areas: coordinating data processing to ensure the necessary input and output for complete record-keeping and reporting functions including budget control; promotion and outreach work as related to services provided by the agency; act as a lead-worker disseminating work assignments, training staff, and handling more difficult related tasks; and will perform other related work as required. Part-time extra-help is a provisional classification where permanent status may not be obtained. This position is subject to overtime, standby, shift, and callback assignments and will perform related duties as assigned. This position is non-benefited except for participation in a 401a program with Nationwide.

Typical Tasks - Carry out high level administration functions;
- Support the complex administrative needs of staff;
- Gather, coordinate, and organize information and data for required record keeping and reporting needs;
- Maintain proficiency in the use of software and hardware utilized;
- Coordinate and monitor materials required to be on hand;
- Create and prepare statistical reports related to operational functions;
- Interpret statistical data for department administrators;
- Perform and supervise routine administrative and clerical tasks; and
- Train, supervise, and evaluate clerical staff.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education/Experience) SKILLS/ABILITIES - Supervise staff conducting technical assistance;

- Speak and write in a clear, concise manner;
- Effectively manage time and prioritize work tasks around strict timelines and deadlines;
- Develop and maintain record-keeping systems and electronic databases;
- Prepare recommendations for Departmental and County review;
- Sit at a desk for extended amounts of time;
- Lift, bend, stoop and reach overhead; and
- Push, pull, squat, twist and turn.
KNOWLEDGE - Modern office practices/record-keeping;
- Statistical record keeping and reporting concepts, methods and techniques;
- Data processing relating to budget control or payroll;
- Principles and techniques of employee supervision; and
- Spelling, grammar, and elements of proper writing procedures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: We recognize your time is valuable, please only apply if you meet the following required qualifications. PATTERN I - Completion of thirty (30) college semester units in Public or Business Administration or related area.
PATTEN II - Two years performing highly complex clerical duties with lead-worker, programmatically or accounting responsibilities.
