    Job Summary

    Performs professional communications work for the Families, Parks, and Recreation Department. Responsible for the coordination, development, creation, and delivery of communications materials and programs to inform the public and targeted populations of FPR programs, events, activities, and initiatives. Work is performed under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Supervisor and is reviewed through evaluation of work performed. Must be able to work nights and weekends as required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field plus two (2) years of experience in communications or public information required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Driver's License required. A valid Florida Driver’s License must be obtained within three (3) months of employment.

    If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
    • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
    • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
    • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
    • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
