This is an observational data collection position working on the wards with no direct interaction with clients. Fulton State Hospital is a 400 bed psychiatric state hospital, with a new 300 bed high security unit (Nixon Forensic Center - NFC) which opened in 2019. It is located in Fulton, Missouri, a small town located about 30 minutes from Columbia and Jefferson City (the state capitol). The town is midway between St. Louis and Kansas City. What you’ll do: -
- Will complete all requirement and deadline expectations set up for the initial training and certification of both Time Sample Behavioral Checklist (TSBC) and Staff Resident Interaction Chronograph (SRIC) assessment systems within the initial training period of 6 months.
- Will successfully and accurately observe and record patient and staff behavior according to the TSBC and SRIC assessment systems.
- Will attain and maintain proficiency in collecting and processing TSBC and SRIC data from start to finish product (including, but not limited to, collection, entry, checking, editing, distribution, and continual coding maintenance).
- Will participate in and maintain required reliability on all scheduled reliability and spot checks for both TSBC and SRIC assessment systems.
- Will accurately complete all required TSBC and SRIC paperwork as outlined in the TSBC and SRIC training manuals.
- Complete additional responsibilities related to gathering and tabulating assessment data or other job relevant tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Will accurately follow all required observational procedures including, but not limited to: Exhibit non-interactive status as defined in the observational manual; Maintain proper observational demeanor while on duty; Maintain objective and non-bias approach to data collection; Complete paperwork responsibilities in a timely fashion.
- Will act independently without specific instruction, as appropriate.
- Will look for opportunities to promote improved processes and increased accuracy of the assessment systems operation.
- Will establish, develop, and review with supervision, personal development goals on a regular basis.
Minimum Qualifications - High School Diploma or proof of high school equivalency
- 1+ years working in a mental health setting involving the care and treatment of clients; office or related clerical work in mental health or correctional setting; business or office management or public administration.
