Our Child Welfare division has expanded significantly over the past three years, and with this growth comes the need for a third
Assistant Division Director (ADD). This pivotal role will help distribute the increasing workload, provide focused leadership, and support essential programs that safeguard and support children and families. It will oversee critical functions such as Family Finding and Engagement, Transportation, Licensing and Recruitment, Placement, CFTs and Youth Awaiting Placement.
Driving innovative initiatives, the third Assistant Division Director will play a key role in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and excellence across our division. As a leader in Child Welfare, you’ll be part of a team committed to creating a brighter, safer future for children in our community, ensuring that every family receives the support they need. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders, lead strategic projects, and guide a dedicated team of professionals who share your passion for making a difference.
*Some nights and weekend required* Essential Functions: - Provides managerial, programmatic, and supervisory oversight to a section within the Child Welfare Division to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policy and regulation, while promoting best practice
- Monitors, reviews, and ensures effective and efficient section operations and fiscal management
- Provides leadership to ensure consistent service provision within section and division through collaboration with internal partners, review of and response to program and system data, and interpretation of local, state, and federal policies and regulations
- Develops and facilitates external partnerships, and represent the section and division in alignment with defined mission, vision, and values
- Provides management to on-call afterhours team(s)

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree
- Five years of experience job-related management experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Master's degree in Social Work or related field
- Five (5) or more years of senior level management and leadership experience working with a Health or Human Services agency or Child Welfare program
- Strong business skills to include process improvement and the use of technology to improve access and efficiency
- Budgeting experience
- Experience in strategic planning and project management
- Experience with an electronic case management system

- Ability to exercise good judgment in appraisal of situations and in making decisions, planning, and directing work activities
- Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
- Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
- Ability to solve complex individual and systemic problems
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal child welfare policy and legislation
- Ability to utilize project management approaches in the implementation and assessment of change
