The Accounts Assistant position will be responsible for work in the Fiscal Unit which provides support in purchasing and billing for the laboratory testing units. The position offers a flexible work schedule, as an upcoming new financial system continues implementation.
What you’ll do: - Ensure accuracy of vendor invoices; verifying correct pricing and quantities ordered/received
- Entering in and updating Access database entries to ensure obligated fund balances are accurate.
- Entering purchase and payment documents into statewide accounting system
- Reconciliation of purchasing card statements with cardholder documentation
- Follow up with vendors to request invoices, correct pricing, etc.
- Process orders for Newborn Screening sample collection forms
- Prepare Weekly/monthly invoices for tests performed
- Submit claims for reimbursement to insurance and Medicaid
- Assist with data entry of test requests
- 1-3 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and office methods and practices
- Ability to make mathematic calculations, maintain automated and manual financial records.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to review financial documents for accuracy with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of basic research methods related to financial transactions.
- Ability to identify and resolve transactional issues.
