Position Description
Performs routine and moderately difficult clerical duties of a specialized nature, which may be performed in a variety of University settings. Responsibilities may include basic bookkeeping, data coding, filing, sorting, posting, verifying, recording, typing, and word processing. Work is performed under close supervision within established policies and procedures with job performance based upon tasks completed.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Prepares provider services information to streamline coders' processes
  • Responsible for charge capture and logging of department's hospital services
  • Responsible for distributing DME reports to coders and sending DME receipts to the medical records department
  • Responsible for working and clearing all coded transactions in the transaction editing system (TES)
  • Works all edits in TES including completing workers comp information, NDC numbers, authorization numbers, etc.
  • Ensures insurance, authorization and FSC flow are accurate for claim
  • Verifies correct insurance information on patients coming from the hospital


Required Qualifications
Proficiency in written and mathematical processes as may be reflected by the completion of high school or the equivalent.
