Job Summary

Salary:

$33.59- $42.825 hourly

This individual will perform professional and administrative work related to the ongoing development, execution, and evaluation of the city's internal operations and community-wide sustainability programs, as outlined in the Municipal Sustainability Operations and Community Sustainability Action Plans, as well as Renewable Energy and E-Mobility Roadmaps.

This individual will coordinate efforts of city agencies, expert partners, residents, businesses, and other stakeholders toward achieving the City’s sustainability and climate goals. This position oversees sustainability staff and supports a variety of projectsincluding, but not limited to:energy efficiency, green buildings, energy equity, renewable energy, clean transportation and enhanced mobility, and water conservation.

Additionally, this position will serve as the key advisor to the Department Director, city leadership, and elected officials on sustainability matters.

Work is performed under the supervision of the Department Director and Assistant Director. Performance is reviewed periodically through formal and informal meetings and reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related field and four (4) years experience in the area of sustainability including three (3) years in a progressively responsible supervisory capacity with budget responsibilities; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid Florida Driver's License is required.

This is a full-time CONTRACT position with the same benefits as Regular full-time. Most contracts are renewable for terms of one year.

  • Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
  • Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
  • Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
