Job Description

The City of Phoenix, Oregon is seeking a Finance & Administrative Services Director for this fast-growing community in the scenic Rogue Valley along Interstate 5 (I-5) in Southern Oregon eight miles north of Ashland. The City serves a population of 3,773 across 2.1 square miles with a 2024 budget of $26 million and a team of 27 FTEs. City Hall is housed within a new state-of-the art 24,000 square-foot Public Safety Building, completed in May 2024. 

THE FINANCE & ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR 

Working under the general supervision of the City Manager, the Finance & Administrative Services Director is a member of the City's executive leadership team. The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the City and Phoenix Urban Renewal Agency. Primary functions include overseeing the annual audit and preparation of the annual budget and ongoing monitoring of budget compliance throughout the year. Additional responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting, debt management, and purchasing. The Finance Department also oversees utility billing services and transient lodging tax programs. The Department operates with a budget of $500,800 and a team of 5 FTEs.
