Pay Range: $13.45hr. - $20.49

Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm PART-TIME 19 hours

A Stock Clerk position is available with the City of Fort Worth Police Department - Asset Management Unit. This position will contribute to the City’s strategic goals, mission and vision by working to establish a centralized area of issuing and receiving supplies and equipment, and providing professional support to both general employees and sworn police officers at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED Certification
  • One (1) year of warehouse/stockroom experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass Drug Screen, Physical.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Forklift experience and knowledge of warehouse operations.
  • Records management within a database.
  • Experience working with inventory tracking software.
  • Prior military logistics experience.
  • Familiar with the Quartermaster system

The (Job Posting Title) job responsibilities include:
  • Identifies, orders, receives, stocks and issues parts and materials.
  • Operates city vehicle to pick up and deliver parts, supplies and materials from warehouse to outside locations.
  • Assists customers at service counter or via written or verbal request; reviews orders, issues, exchanges, supplies and equipment; processes returns; updates inventory, selects items from shelves, and replenishes stock.
  • Creates, files, and maintains documentation of all personnel, signed receipts, and equipment records, and monitors stock records to ensure inventory is within established levels; order as necessary.
  • Enters order information into automated parts and finance information system. Reviews on ongoing basis to determine status of orders and follows up on outstanding orders.
  • Receives incoming orders and compares quantity shipped and price against order. Verifies receipt and inspects goods for quantity, damage and conformity to specification. Reports discrepancies and labels with bar code, records all inventory items by quantity, receiving document and storage location on computer.
  • As required, operates a forklift to load/unload materials from vehicles and transfer to warehouse.
  • Provides clerical assistance regarding Quartermaster related activities including but not limited to: contacting vendors, scheduling appointment.
  • Prepares all paperwork for the disposition of surplus departmental furniture and equipment.
  • Maintains warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion by rotating stock, removing obsolete items and cleaning area as needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Demand as stated on official City job description
  • Final candidates selected for hire in the Police Department will be subject to a fingerprint/criminal history background check and polygraph examination. Applicants must not have used marijuana during the previous two (2) years, nor illegally used any controlled substances within the last five (5) years.
  • Medium work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.

Working Conditions

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
