This position is open to all qualified King County Employees only .

This posting may be used to establish a list of qualified candidates for the Asset Data Administrator in the following 6 months after initial selection.

About the Role:
The primary mission of this position is to lead the execution, management and monitoring millions of dollars in contracts working to deliver Strategic Asset Management work plan tasks. Additionally, this position is accountable for quality control of asset registry data, loading data into the asset registry and providing exceptional customer service through the data request portal. This position is the meeting Coordinator of the Asset Management Steering Committee.

About the Team:
The primary focus of the Asset Management team is to monitor asset related risk and work to employ mitigation strategies under guidance of the Strategic Asset Management Plan. Our team of energetic subject matter experts are involved with quality control of asset data, conformance of capital projects with all asset management specifications, management of the Enterprise Asset Management System (Maximo) data base, retrieval of asset data in support of capital projects, managing the asset condition assessment program and providing input to the asset renewal forecast model supporting long and short range rate projections.

Job Duties
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Manage a multibillion dollar asset registry including data loading, data retrieval, quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Effectively and efficiently apply advanced Asset Management industry standards and practices in the areas of program planning, coordinating, benefits management, budget management, schedule management, monitoring/control, and reporting on WTD's Asset Management Program and Strategic Asset Management Plan.
  • Procure and administer consultant contracts and work orders. Oversee and supervise the preparation of all contract negotiations, change orders, interpretation and compliance monitoring.
  • Lead or participate on management level boards as assigned including Asset Management Steering Committee (AMSC) and Lifecycle Management Program committee. As needed attend and present at county level boards such as Metropolitan Water Pollution Abatement Advisory Committee.
  • Track and monitor all Strategic Asset Management Plan work plan tasks quarterly utilizing Power BI.
  • Perform complex research and analysis to provide expert advice used for prioritizing asset management program goals and objectives ensuring the program maintains compliance with all relevant State and Federal laws and regulations including Washington Administrative Code, Governmental Accounting Standards Board and Environmental Protection Agency asset management standards.

Qualifications You Bring:
  • Knowledge and experience in the administration of an Enterprise Asset Management Program.
  • Knowledge and skill in managing an asset registry such as in Maximo.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and principles.
  • Skill in managing multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and rate-making principles.
  • Knowledge of contracting and bid-specification procedures.
  • Skill in oral and written communications.

Supplemental Information
Working Conditions:
  • Remote and Onsite Work Details: Employees in this role will primarily be working at a remote home location. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. Onsite reporting locations may be at various King County worksites including the collaboration space at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98104). This work arrangement promotes work-life-balance and reduces carbon footprint under the department's vision of Green Where We Work.
  • Remote Work Location Requirement: Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.
  • Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week with flexible schedules. This position is not covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
  • Union Representation: This position is represented by Technical Employees' Association.
