Required:Associate's Degree in Health and Safety, Chemistry, Science, Environment, Biological, Applied Science, or a related field.Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s license.Preferred:
  • 1 year of experience in sample collection, compliance, or industrial process.

Position Description:
Under general supervision, ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations regarding the Control Authority's approved programs and associated limits.

Essential Functions:
  • Protects the environment and health of the community by performing environmental inspections of industrial facilities, city facilities, and construction sites, conducting investigations and discrete monitoring to detect pollution of the local environment, gather information from internal and external customers in regards to illicit dumping, polluting, suspect discharges to the storm water conveyance and watershed.
  • Reviews technical reports and plans, draft inspections reports, stormwater permit information, enforcement actions and participate in compliance actions.
  • Collects watershed data for reporting and evaluation of program progress.
  • Responds to emergency calls during precipitation events and on-call response spills and illicit discharges.
  • Conducts public outreach and education activities.
  • Facilitate resolution of compliance issues, apply and enforce statutes, regulations, ordinances and policies governing the Control Authority’s approved programs.
