Job Description and Duties STATE PARK INTERPRETER I - DIABLO RANGE DISTRICT/SAN JUAN BAUTISTA STATE HISTORIC PARK The reporting location for this position is San Juan Bautista State Historic Park, located in San Juan Bautista, CA. This position will be under the direction of the State Park Interpreter III. The State Park Interpreter I position performs front line interpretive work in historic buildings representing the birth and growth of the state of California. Duties include public interpretation of topics related to California history, extensive work with teachers and school groups, park planning efforts, and historical research and development of interpretive projects for California State Parks. The position is responsible for working closely with all staff and volunteers to accomplish tasks necessary to operate, protect, interpret and maintain the park unit to the highest standards. The Interpreter I will serve as a volunteer coordinator and as a lead for seasonal aides and may act as the cooperating association liaison. This position will work alongside museum staff to coordinate interpretive operations related to museum collections. This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license.
