Job Description and Duties POSITION MAY BE EXTENDED OR BECOME PERMANENT Looking for an exciting opportunity in State Service while making a positive impact on the environment and today’s youth? This position is a limited term for up to 24 months. Under the direction of the Conservationist Supervisor, a Conservationist -I will mentor their Corpsmembers and teach them how to navigate through life’s challenges, by being a life coach to their Corpsmembers and guiding them through their journey in obtaining a career that will satisfy their goals. This position consists of supervising a crew in public service conservation work, working in rural areas with a variety of sponsors. A Conservationist- I, is responsible in guiding Corpsmembers to complete project work in a professional and timely manner, while creating a safe work and welcoming environment that is all inclusive. Additionally, the Conservationist -I will maintain a good and positive relationship with sponsors. Projects will consist of construction, landscaping, erosion control, trail building and maintenance, and other projects, while working in remote areas or urban settings. The CCC’s Sacramento Service District is looking for a trustworthy and reliable Conservationist 1 to supervise a crew of up to 12 Corpsmembers doing energy conservation work. Work alongside Corpsmembers doing energy surveys, energy retrofits, and other conservation work as needed. The ability to respond to emergencies for long periods of time is required. You will supervise, train and evaluate young adults (Corpsmembers) between the ages of 18 and 25 performing conservation-related work projects.
