Job Description and Duties LIFEGUARD II (SEASONAL) - BAY AREA DISTRICT / SAN FRANCISCO BAY SECTOR Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. Primary responsibilities include performing first aid and CPR as needed, detecting and rescuing persons or vessels in distress, educating visitors about rules and regulations, providing daily leadership for the Lifeguard I (Seasonal) staff and working as a deckhand on State Park vessels, with an emphasis on assisting peace officers with a wide variety of medical emergencies. This position works as a crew member on State Park vessels as a deckhand. Pre-employment and random drug testing is a U.S. Coast Guard requirement. Time worked as a deckhand can count toward boat operator licensure. Job Description and Duties LIFEGUARD II (SEASONAL) - BAY AREA DISTRICT / SAN FRANCISCO BAY SECTOR Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application.
