Serves as the Back-Up Utility Plant Operator (UPO) and assists in the operation, maintenance, and repairs to the Water Distribution System and Wastewater Systems. Responsible for regulatory compliance in all utility operations and completion of required reports and laboratory testing as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). Operates all types of equipment such as trucks, tractors, mowers, and power tools. Provides quality visitor services by, providing information, and quality customer service to visitors. WORKING CONDITIONS : Required to work in a public park with overnight camping and day use; Required to work 40 hours per week, includes various schedules with hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and days off other than Saturdays, Sundays and holidays; Required to adjust to changing schedules; Required to work extended hours during peak season; Required to respond to emergency situations; Required to perform work outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions; Required to perform manual labor including, lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.; May be required to operate a State vehicle; Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays; Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules and safety procedures; Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles.
