Assist/Assoc/Full Professor - Pediatric Hospitalist Lubbock 32304BR Position Description Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is recruiting a pediatric hospital medicine physician to join our pediatric hospital medicine team in Lubbock, Texas. Our hospital medicine division is comprised of 11 pediatric hospital medicine physicians. Our division provides coverage for inpatient pediatric services at Covenant Children's Hospital, University Medical Center Children's Hospital, and Trustpoint rehabilitation hospital. Our division acts as the primary admitting team for many of our pediatric subspecialists and participates in co-management with many of the surgical specialists at each of our hospital sites. We are currently growing a hospitalist-run sedation service at Covenant Children's for children undoing procedures or sedated imaging. Major/Essential Functions The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to work in a clinically diverse program, serving a large region of West Texas known as the Texas Panhandle. The candidate should have exemplary clinical skills, a team spirit, collegiality and an interest in training pediatric residents and medical students. This is a full academic faculty position. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center medical school was recently ranked #1 nationally among graduates as "The best place to learn". Hospital-based education is key to fulfilling the mission of the school. A hospitalist works full-time in a nationally operated hospital that is designated a Level III Trauma Center.
