Area of concentration is open, although expertise in substance abuse, PTSD/trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, aging, interpersonal relationships/social connection, discrimination/mental-health disparities, evidence-based treatments for mental-health disorders, AI/machine-learning applications to mental health research, clinical health psychology and/or mental health outcomes in neurologic/medical populations would complement our department's research focus. The successful candidate will teach Athletic Training and Kinesiology courses as well as maintain an active program of scholarly research and publication. The typical teaching load is 12 units per semester, and 3 of the 12 units will be provided for administrative duties per semester. Teaching on weekdays, evenings, weekends and on-line may be required and have research interests in supporting athletic training to advance profession. In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, participation in assessment of student learning, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate will be held to the standards and requirements of the college and department in which he/she/they is/are housed for recommending tenure and promotion. Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will help the Department achieve equitable academic outcomes for all students through teaching, student mentorship, scholarship, and service. A terminal degree in athletic training or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Degree at the time of application or official notification of the terminal degree by date of appointment is required. College or University-level teaching experience, both in-person and online. Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing with the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC). Previous clinical experience as an athletic trainer (volunteer, part-time, or full-time). Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of effective engagement OR potential to engage with a diverse student body. Experience using culturally responsive pedagogy that leads to equitable outcomes for all students Experience creating a student-centered learning environment. Research/Lab experience that includes working with students from diverse backgrounds. Experience adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring. Previous experience as a clinical education coordinator in a CAATE accredited program. Experience working with the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Program (CAATE) standards.
