Senior Clinical Department Administrator - Pediatrics Lubbock 36906BR Position Description Employees in this position are responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative operations of a clinical department. Persons in this position must exercise a high degree of initiative and independent judgment, and should have a general knowledge of Health Sciences Center policies and procedures as they relate to department financial management and personnel administration. Provide direct supervision to department staff personnel. Work is performed under usual office conditions; deadlines, meetings and maybe some travel. Oversees contracts and division grants. Oversees faculty recruitment from job posting, to communication with candidates, site visits, letter of intent, to offer. Ensures EEO and HR compliance Oversees infrastructure for communication in large divisions and clinics, including huddles, monthly and quarterly meeting schedules, and weekly e-communication. Communicates and collaborates with Cancer Center Research division chief, and with Clinical Cytogenetic Laboratory division chief. Participates in department budget preparation and implementation. Responsible for purchasing and inventory management for clinic equipment and supplies. Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled Substitute Nurse Hourly: $28.45 Primarily responsible for the school health services to students attending the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The incumbent must have the ability to perform the essential functions below either with or without reasonable accommodations. Coordinate and implement a plan for health screenings. Coordinate, design and implement special health care procedures. Provide training on lifting techniques, basic first aid, infection-control procedures, dispensing medication, CPR and other in-service as needed. Administer medication and other health care procedures. Follow proper nursing procedures and maintain appropriate documentation. Seek out and use community health service resources. Participate in staffing and IEP conferences to provide information on the student's physical and health needs when requested. Oversee all SHCP. Make sure they are completed correctly and all necessary supplies are available. Notify parents if additional supplies are needed. Utilize each student's individual communication system. Take a leadership role in developing and implementing a comprehensive school health plan. Accurately complete required reports on or before established deadlines. Communicate effectively both orally and in written form, using correct grammar, punctuation, clarity and consistency of thought. Collaborate with building administrator to maintain an orderly, attractive, safe, and clean environment. Maintain CPR training instructor certification. Maintain confidentiality of parent, student and staff personally identifiable information. Ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and access information via the internet. Itinerant travel may be assigned as needed Perform the daily self-care of students as needed and assigned (e.g., diapering, feeding, hand washing, tooth brushing, etc.) Lift and move 50 pounds to include assisting in changing positions of students. Itinerant travel may be assigned as needed. Participate in staff development activities to keep nursing skills updated and current. Infrequent travel for training and staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. *Education Required/Preferred: Licensed as a registered nurse in Missouri. Experience with pediatrics and/or individuals with disabilities. *The position requires a professional license pursuant to state law.
