Develops sensible and logical transit routes, schedules and plans to provide public services to meet the needs of RTC customers. Assists with developing scenarios to increase or decrease transit service year to year, to maximize benefits and minimize negative impacts to customers. Analyzes and reports project status, budgets, cost estimates and requirements. Develops maps, charts and graphs used in planning studies and reports; compiles, arranges, analyzes and interprets data; conducts comparative studies of transit system use, population structure, and economic activity; prepares technical reports. Oversees the submission of the National Transit Database report for the RTC. Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Active Transportation & Transit Planning Office Chief, a Supervising Transportation Planner, the incumbent is the Caltrans District Active Transportation (CAT) Plan Program Manager. The work is within the Headquarters (HQ) Division of Transportation Planning (DOTP). This is a specialist, non-supervising position. The work is fundamental to linking Caltrans active transportation needs with funding and implementation. The incumbent leads development and delivery of a CAT Plan Implementation Handbook, CAT Plan Update Guidance document, and related resources, tools, and training. The incumbent is the primary point of contact for district CAT Plans and ensures Caltrans successfully implements and updates the plans in a coordinated and efficient manner. The work requires extensive coordination with and communications with Caltrans management and executives in Headquarters and districts. The incumbent is DOTP's primary point of contact for the Complete Streets Asset Management Program and ensures CAT Plan implementation and updates meet that Program's needs. Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Active Transportation & Transit Planning Office Chief, a Supervising Transportation Planner, the incumbent is the Caltrans District Active Transportation (CAT) Plan Program Manager. The work is within the Headquarters (HQ) Division of Transportation Planning (DOTP). This is a specialist, non-supervising position.
