Introduction Under direct oversight from Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II or III, the W/WW Treatment Plant Apprentice performs a variety of skilled work in the operation and maintenance of the City's water or wastewater treatment plant equipment and processes. The Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Apprenticeship classification is intended as a two year training program within the Water Resources Department. Upon satisfactory completion of the two year program, the successful candidate will be fully qualified as a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II, capable of assuming all duties and responsibilities associated with operation of the treatment works within the Water Resources Division. Introduction Under direct oversight from Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II or III, the W/WW Treatment Plant Apprentice performs a variety of skilled work in the operation and maintenance of the City's water or wastewater treatment plant equipment and processes. The Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Apprenticeship classification is intended as a two year training program within the Water Resources Department. Upon satisfactory completion of the two year program, the successful candidate will be fully qualified as a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II, capable of assuming all duties and responsibilities associated with operation of the treatment works within the Water Resources Division. Please note: There are two positions available; one in Water Treatment and one in Wastewater Treatment. This position will be required to work various shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Starting salary is $20.18/hour Incremental increases based on strict performance goals outlined within the Apprenticeship program: Approximately 6 months from hire date increase to $20.90/hour Approximately 12 months from hire date increase to $21.94/hour Approximately 18 months from hire date increase to $23.90/hour Those who meet the minimum qualifications for this position may be invited to an Information Session.
